Aloka House Sabah is pleased to announce that Ajahn Brahmavamso Mahathera (lovingly known to most as Ajahn Brahm) will be visiting Kota Kinabalu from 28th to 30th November 2011. Profile
Ajahn Brahmavamso Mahathera (lovingly known as Ajahn Brahm) was born Peter Betts in London. Shortly after graduating from Cambridge University, United Kingdom with a degree in Theoretical Physics, he was ordained as a Buddhist monk in Bangkok at the age of 23 and trained under Ven Ajahn Chah for 9 years. He is now the Abbot of Bodhinyana Buddhist Monastery, near Perth and the Spiritual Director of the Buddhist Society of Western Australia (BSWA). He is also the spiritual patron of the Buddhist fellowship in Singapore and Bodhikusuma Centre in Sydney. His humorous and inspiring teachings makes him a well sought-after speaker in many countries. His friday night talks reach a weekly audience of many thousands of people. He regularly visits Singapore, Malaysia, Sri Lanka and Thailand, often drawing thousands to hear his talks. He is recognised for dedicating time and attention to the sick and dying, those in prison or ill with cancer, people wanting to learn to meditate, and of course his own Sangha of monks at Bodhinyana, Perth.

Āyasmā Kumāra Bhikkhu’s Profile


Āyasmā Kumāra was ordained in 1999 at the age of 27 by Sayādaw U Revata at Subang Jaya Buddhist Association. Currently, he resides in Sāsanārakkha Buddhist Sanctuary (www.sasanarakkha.org), Taiping, where he learns from Āyasmā Aggacitta and acts as his personal assistant.
